On behalf of the faculty and staff, I want to welcome you to Lincoln
School! Lincoln Elementary School is a kindergarten through third
grade attendance center in Macomb C.U.S.D. #185. Five hundred fifteen
students are currently being served by 42 certified and 33 non-certified
staff members.
To ensure that each child's needs are being
met, the following services are provided: special education, occupational
and physical therapy, reading, gifted education, and counseling.
Lincoln Elementary School strives to provide for the individual
academic and developmental needs of all children by offering developmentally
appropriate curriculum at each grade level. While the primary emphasis
is the academic growth of each student, social and problem-solving
skills are addressed the entire year.
Lincoln Elementary School believes that children
will be more successful in school when the school and the parents
are working together. Parents are welcome in our building
at any time, and are encouraged to share hobbies, expertise, and
family experiences with their child's classroom. We ask each
family to read with their child nightly and to assist with any other
homework the child brings home. Teachers keep parents informed about
other happenings in their classrooms by sending newsletters on a
weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis.
Parent-teacher conferences are held twice
during the school year, but parents and teachers often schedule
additional conferences when necessary.
Technology is a very important part of our
curriculum at Lincoln. In addition to a PC Lab that has 20
computers with Internet access, each classroom is equipped with
at least three computers, Internet access, and a TV/computer connection.
Lincoln School is also the home of the Macomb
After School Program (MAP) which is run by the McDonough County
YMCA. It is offered every afternoon when school is in session.
Any child attending school in the Macomb School District, grades
K-6, is eligible for enrollment. Enrollment is limited according
to state licensing guidelines and space availability. |
