1.
What is the loan period for library books?
There is a one-week loan period for all books checked out of Lincoln Library.
2.
How many library books may my child take out?
Kindergarten and first graders may check out one library book each week. Second and third graders may check out two library books each week.
3.
Will my child be fined for overdue books?
No; however, overdue notices are sent to your child's homeroom periodically. If an overdue book shows on your child's record with the library, the child will not be able to check out any additional books from the library until the overdue book is returned or a lost book fine is paid.
4.
What is the fine for a lost or damaged library book?
Fines are calculated using the current replacement cost of the book. If the lost book is found and the replacement book has not been ordered, the fine will be returned.
5.
What should we do if we accidentally return a Lincoln book to another library?
Lincoln is part of the Alliance Library System, as are most libraries in the area. If our book is turned in at these other libraries, it will be returned to Lincoln. While the book is missing, your child will not be able to check out additional books from the library.
