MacArthur has three Prekindergarten at-risk classrooms funded by a block grant from the state of Illinois. Two full-day sessions serve four year olds and one full-day program for three year old children who have been identified as at-risk and qualify through the screening process.

These children do not have special needs but would benefit from school experiences before entering kindergarten. Each Prekindergarten class consists of a maximum of twenty children and two adults.
