Purpose Of The Organization
The MHS Art Club provides a meeting
place for Macomb High School students who are talented and interested in visual
arts experiences beyond those offered in the classroom. The student member does
not need to be currently enrolled in an MHS art class. The Art Club is a chance
to let the members extend into the professional art world.
Brief History
The MHS Art
Club began on November 21, 1996 and became a member of the Rembrandt Society the
same year. It has assisted school groups like student council, senior class, and
junior class (prom). It has also made a goal to decorate the school's
hallways with mini murals.
Interesting Fact: There was an Art Club 40 years prior at the high school. Members participated in their first MHS homecoming parade in 1999 in their 30' long dragon (made by Art Club members.)
