Purpose Of The Organization 

    The MHS Art Club provides a meeting place for Macomb High School students who are talented and interested in visual arts experiences beyond those offered in the classroom. The student member does not need to be currently enrolled in an MHS art class. The Art Club is a chance to let the members extend into the professional art world.
 

Brief History 

    The MHS Art Club began on November 21, 1996 and became a member of the Rembrandt Society the same year. It has assisted school groups like student council, senior class, and junior class (prom).  It has also made a goal to decorate the school's hallways with mini murals.
 

Meetings

Major Activities

• Face Painting during Homecoming.
• Participate in the MHS Homecoming parade.
• Art Workshop at WIU or with artists.  Belong to Rembrandt Society and Illinois Student Art Association.  Participate in art shows.
• Paint murals for MHS hallways.
• Host shared show/party for neighboring art students!
• Take field trips to art galleries.
• Guest artist workshops spring cookout.
• Olympic Art Festival.
• Art displays of members' work in downtown store fronts during IL Arts Week and Youth Art Month.
• Field trip to Chicago
